FAQ

Here you'll find a comprehensive list of frequently asked questions about the Helix project, accompanied by detailed answers.

Why is Helix not a part of core?

Helix is a R&D project by Triumph Tech. Only Spark Development Network can decide to put code into core.

Perhaps that will happen in the future, but for now it's actually a good thing that it's not. Consider:

  • Helix is a dynamic and very configuration rich tool. Prototyping it as a separate plugin allows innovation to occur without the formalities of a large audience.

  • Being separate from core allows for quicker releases and bug fixes.

Although it's not part of the core offering at the moment, with continued community support, it could potentially be integrated once it has matured and stabilized.

Is Helix available in Rock Mobile?

We like the way you think! Helix would be very powerful if it was a part of Rock Mobile. Since Rock Mobile however is a closed framework at this point we're not able to add support as a plugin. With community adoption and support perhaps that could change if Helix was ever added to core.
